In other news, the center will be open next week but we will not be serving meals. We will have groceries and clothing available as usual and there will be people there to answer questions during regular hours.
Stop in and have a look at the fall clothing that has started to come in.

Christian Message from Nigeria

We have received a message to present to you from Pastor Christopher Taiwo who serves our Missions in Nigeria and Ghana. We hope to present more from Pastor Christopher now that we are in touch through e-mail. We will be receiving photos from him soon. Please visit often to hear the latest from Nigeria. Posted by Staff.

This letter is an introduction and welcome to GOD’S WAY, CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES INT’L, is located at 96. Anglican, Road, Ota, Ogun , Nigeria and Commt. 17, Lashibi, Ghana ,and mother body in 1623 DES MOINES ST KEOKUK , IOWA , USA is a non-profit Christian church ministries.
We seeks to promote unity in the body of Christ in this area by having Christians pray and work together to help the people, training, teaching, building and strengthen their faith through undiluted word of truth. The scripture says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans10 v17). We are preparing souls for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ by showing God love and caring. The Bible says,” He who does not love does not know God for God is love” (1 John4 v8).We are into the obedience of the great commission of the Lord Jesus Christ in book of Matthew 28 v19-20. Our training are in two way, (1) Training people in a small scale jobs so that they can earn a living and the second is for the work of God.
The main vision and mission of these great ministries are, the planting of churches in all nations in order to disciple them for Christ, touching the reached and un-reached people, through giving and education. There are plans to build schools and colleges, free medical facility for less privilege and needy. The Lord commissions us to build a city called God’s Way City, where nations we gather at lease twice a year to worship in one accord as a body of Christ. Presently there are several prayer meetings, Bible study, and training of workers each week apart from Sunday service. Praying for nations. Churches, Pastors, families, individual needs and for the unity of the body of Christ with the word of truth.
The Lord has graciously answered hundreds of prayer requests including salvation of loved ones, restoration of marriages, and physical healing.
We need to associate with people of the same mind that has heart for the Lord and His work, please feel free to visit or join in the activities of these great works of the Lord. Presently we supply food and clothes to people in needs, there are still plans to provide more food, clothes, accommodation and free medical facilities to the poor, homeless and aged people especially in some Africa nations. However, there are churches in Africa with big name and crowd but crime and poverty increases. God will help the Africa in Jesus Christ name Amen.
Matt 25:35-36: For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me. I was sick and you looked after me.”
May the Lord bless you, your family and your ministries.

Yours truly humble servant,

Rev. Christopher Taiwo +2348029175671 or +233268460512.

Come around 11 am to get a table or to spread your blanket. Please bring your table settings and drinks for your family or to share with others.

There will be all manner of picnic food, games for your family, and good fellowship with your neighbors and friends.

Community Garden between 4th and 5th streets on High Street, behind St. John's Church.

Planting is nearly completed on the half of the 40' X 100' garden devoted to the Soup Kitchen. There are plots still available to the general public and planting time is growing short. If you would like to have a garden plot of your own, contact Meg Oliver-Mills or give us a call at 524-8329 and we will put you in touch with her. The size of your plot is up to you.

The hard work of maintaining the garden is about to begin. If you are a weeder or a waterer, we are looking for you.

Sale on the Parking Lot a flea market for everyone.

If you have a few items you would like to sell, but not enough to hold a yard sale; if you don't want to bother with a yard sale of your own, we have a solution for you.

We are having a parking lot sale on Saturday, June 19 from 9 am until 1 pm. We will rent a table to you for $10. You keep all proceeds from your sale and the table rent goes to the Pastor's Aid Committee.

You may split the rent on a table with a friend; you may rent as many tables as you need. We have available 12 double tables and 3 smaller single tables. Tables are available on a first come, first served basis.
Give us a call at 524-8329 and leave your name and number.
